The mission of the Education for Justice Web site is rooted in the biblical call of justice. As disciples, we are called to see, hear, understand, and respond to the message of the gospel and the manifestations of injustice that demand the engagement of our heads, hearts and hands.
Reading and responding to the signs of the times is an urgent call of living our faith today. Love of God and love of neighbor are one.
All Education for Justice resources are designed to promote greater knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and highlight the connection between current world events and our faith. Living as a disciple in a globalized world requires both greater awareness of local and global justice issues and ongoing faith formation.
The Two Feet of Love in Action - USCCB
Catholic disciples on mission are called to put Two Feet of Love in Action! This foundational tool describes two distinct, but complementary, ways we can put the Gospel in action in response to God's love: social justice (addressing systemic, root causes of problems that affect many people) and charitable works (short-term, emergency assistance for individuals).
Our call as Christians is to live as neighbor to everyone, to treat each person with mercy and compassion is part of the call to discipleship. But how do we do this? In clear, concise language the author discusses each of the principles of the Church’s social teaching, then offers a wide variety of creative ideas for living them out. Some of the ideas take only five minutes, others take ten minutes, and still others take twenty minutes. This is an excellent resource for both individuals and family members, for peace and justice committees, for RCIA teams, catechists, teachers, and parish ministers.
